| To revitalize historic downtown Gilmer into a healthy marketplace, the Main Street
approach to downtown revitalization will be used. This approach consists of four major
areas that the local Main Street director coordinates:

| 2. Design: Capitalize on the unique, historic buildings of downtown, rehabilitate
downtown structures and redesign buildings signs and displays.
3. Promotion: Improve advertising, sales promotions, and special events that generate interest in downtown. Market a quality image of downtown. 4. Economic Restructuring: Create a healthy and attractive mix of goods and services downtown by retaining existing strong businesses and recruiting new ones. | |
