The City will be working on water mains around the square this evening (6/23/26) starting around 5:30 PM. Businesses around the square will experience a loss of water pressure. Simpson Street will be directly affected, experiencing a partial block of the street as crews remove the bricks to access the pipes. We will also have fire hydrants open on the square, so there will be water running down the streets. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we plan to have everything back on by tomorrow morning. If you are a business and have questions, please reach out to our Director of Public Works, Jonathon Nix at 903-843-8206. Thank you for your patience as we perform this work. -Mary Bullock, City Manager
